EnerSys Among 2021 “Best Places to Work Inland Northwest"

READING, Pennsylvania, October 2021 –

EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, announced that its Spokane Plant was named among the recipients of the “Best Places to Work Inland Northwest” award. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Spokane Plant earned this recognition.

“Receiving this award following the challenges of this past year was unexpected, but demonstrates that our “people first” culture, emphasis on direct and respectful communications, and employee empowerment to drive improvement speaks for itself,” said Dwayne Gray, Plant Manager. “We rely on our employees to identify areas for improvement, no matter where the impact, and use lean principles to make this a better place through daily discussions on business performance and actions needed to close gaps. Our efforts have definitely paid off as we again receive the prestigious BPTW award.”

Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings. All award recipients were announced in the Journal of Business, a regional business newspaper.

In its sixth year, the survey-based awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the companies in the Inland Northwest that best benefit the region’s economy, workforce and businesses. The program is for businesses located in Spokane, Pend Oreille and Stevens counties in Washington and Kootenai and Bonner counties in Idaho.

As with last year’s award, the Spokane Plant was named among the top 38 businesses in the Inland Northwest region. Located in Spokane Valley, Washington, the company designs and manufactures thermally managed modular outdoor electronic equipment enclosures. Its product solutions provide equipment mounting space, thermal management, copper and fiber cable management, and power and battery backup to telecommunications, cable/Multiple System Operator (MSO), energy/utility, land mobile radio, transportation and U.S. government/military customers. Designed for telecommunications outside plant use, the enclosures enable substantial savings of time, labor, space, and capital and operational expenses, compared with prefabricated buildings and shelters.

Companies from across the region participated in a two-part survey to determine which would be recognized with a “Best Places to Work Inland Northwest” award. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

The list-making companies were honored at a virtual awards ceremony on October 6, 2021. The rankings are published in the October 7 issue of the Journal of Business.
